In Melissa's Blog, she talks about the actions taken from Pastor Terry Jones of Florida who was outraged by the message of the Quran and cont. to burn it despite the interference from the Afghan Govnerment. The lives of American citizens over in Afghanistan were at risk as Pastor Jones expressed his ideas on American soil. Melissa states the selfishness of the American citizen and her dissapproval of his actions.
She continues to question his "Christianity" as his relegion too would not permit those kind of actions. I think this article was very informative, provided a students point of view on a event that most citizens would agree with her about. Her arguement and knowledge of the article was consise.

- A poltical idealogy for me has really never been narrowed down into what "party" im in, but what situations I agree on from my experiences and the experiences I see happening to others around me. I could have a Liberal view on an issue but have a stance in a more conservative overall outlook. Personally, I have that general family you see on the movies.... one aunt is democratic, ones republican, ones so on and so forth. I was raised in the country riding horses, down south with a bunch of country folks. and then I lived in Austin, LA, Alanta, Georgia where the liberal side had come out in me. I am taking this class to get more of a basic understanding on the United States government and advance from there. Sadly enough, the majority of Americans do not know how our country runs, and how the government works and I happen to be in that majority! Hopefully soon I will be out! Current events to me happen to Rihanna and Angelina Jolie not to our laws, military or anything of that sort. I hope to learn, to grow, and grasp the idea on American government

Georgia Governor signs law targeting immigration
CNN reports the somewhat strict new law signed by Georgia governor Nathan Deal inforcing new codes on illegal immigrants. The bill allows " law enforcement officers to ask about immigration status when questioning suspects in certain criminal investigations. It punishes people who transport illegal immigrants during the commission of a crime and imposes hefty prison sentences on those who use fake documents to get jobs." Some Senators have opposed the bill stating the people come over to fullfill life long dreams for themselves and family, many riots, boycotts and protests have taken place but have not taken any affect on the bill changing. In my opinion, I agree on the bill being passed among ILLEGAL immigrants in Georgia for this is the second time in five years that Georgia lawmakers passed an anti-illegal immigration bill. Many citizens have complained about the drastic increase in taxes due to undocumented emergency room visits from an overcrowded state. Georgia's schools are also making it harder for children to get an decent education due to another drastic increase of immigrants making the schools very crowded. Every citizen should be required and mandated to pay taxes if you are living in the United States and using the freedoms just as much as the tax-paying citizens do. This could be one of the best laws written in potenitally most effective on immigration and possibly being adopted by other states. The ideas of this law first came in hand as the state of Arizona had a horrible immigration problem enraging tax-paying citizens giving enlightment to the same ideas to Georgia. In Georgia, the state Senate "passed the measure by 37 to 19. The Georgia House, which provided final passage for the bill, approved it 112 to 59."
